I dunno if you guys know this but I like talkshow boy, like a LOT hes the coolest fucking guy ever.
Adrien Bailey Trajstman is an australian self produced hyper glitch techno pop artist. He's also known as autralias best pop genius with an affection for hello kitty with the likes to rival my own. He stated to have started making music around 2001 at the age of 16 though he himself says that his music career started more around 1999 or 2000. The oldest work in his currently public discography is 2003's perestroika love. The songs on the album can be traced back to as early 2000.
The debut album is noteable for its unique sound compared to the rest of the artists already very unique sounding discography. In recent years he's described the album as his most messy and unfiltered body of work. He's also mentioned its very hard to listen to because he wears his heart on his sleeve in most of the songs. Some of the songs off the album include "Sticky-Clingy", "Vomitting is Romantic" and I love 1996, the first two being very cheesy love songs. Im using cheesy very affectionate as I feel some of Adrien's best works are love songs. The third is a song written about a break up that he'd been through in the year 1996, making it very understandable why listening to the album can be kind of hard.
The second work in his discography is the blood sexy ep from 2003. An intense body of work with notable tracks like the opening "I'm a motherfucking vampire", "Katia has a switchblade" and "Fuck the pain." The EP has a grungeish feel from what i've heard but feels sort of teen angsty.
Ice police is a short (and by short i mean SHORT) EP relased in 2003 and consisting of the song Ice police and Blood squad. This section is just as short as the extended play.
The second album on the roster, 2004's Watch as I perform my own tracheotemy, is one of his more well known works. Including hits like the very ironic "Getting heartbroken is way cool", "I know a girl who spots foxes" and the title track "Watch as I perform my own tracheotemy." Adrien describes it as an album about mistakes, excess, and girls.
His third and probably most famous album 2006's testosterone! is a personal favorite of mine. Adrien adopts the persona of Tomyum Texmex, a young upstart determined to "keep it real n' shit." The back of the CD goes into the lore of the album a bit. Containing tracks like the famous "I cut myself" made notoriously famous by the homestuck fandom, the title track "Testosterone", and his most recognized track "LCD soundsystem is locked under the stairs and forcefed methadone at my house" which features frequently on RebelTaxi's youtube channel. The title of the break out track is a twisted reference to LCD soundsystem's "Daft punk is playing at my house." A personal favorite track of mine that i feel doesn't get enough love is "My blood is fucking up the dancefloor" a meloncholy track that has a softer feel while still keeping the techno elements Trajstman is known for. Speaking of his iconic techno sound. I feel thi sis the slbum where you can tell he's become most consistent and confident in his production. Songs like "Testosterone" and "Step into my orifice, baby" can be prime examples of exactly what Talkshow Boy himself is like as not only an artist, but talented lyricist.
His fourth album, "Best Beast Ever" is a half hour that goes over themes of self improvement, stress relief, and voodoo released in 2007. In the Album. Adrian takes the role of an incubus determined to go from bad beast to the best beast ever. The self improvement concept no doubt inspiring song titles such as "Building a better beast" "Bad beast" and "Best beast ever." The voodoo elements are also most prominent in the song "Skeleton Man." A personal favorite from the album.
After taking a 14 year hiatus, Adrien broke out onto the technohard pop scene and provided the people with 2021's limitless light. Boasting a warning label on the cover and being the long awaited yet unexpected return the album is certainly a new classic among talkshow boy fans new and old. The album was also released just a few months prior to me getting into talkshow boy! I havent listened to any tracks from it yet tho (im a poser ik i apologize)
anyways this was all taken from a blog post i made on my spacehey at like four AM but go listen to talkshow boy hes great
